About me
After ten years of regular seizure activity and an anxiety disorder which developed in response to the fear of the seizures, I have been offered a gift of a substance in CBD drops which have reduced the number of seizures and helped ease the anxiety. It has only been a week that I have been taking this wonderful tincture but my life has changed for the better. I had begun to give up hope. There was a valuable lesson for me. Never give up if you are planning to try CBD for the first, or you’ve been using it to restore balance to your life for years welcome to my blog where I share everything I’ve learned about CBD in past few years.
CBD. An acronym that makes the eyes of some savvy curlers. Cannabidiol, by its full name, is a cannabis version light and legal. Why ? It is devoid of its psychoactive substance, THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which hovers and dilates the pupils of the red eyes of its users.
Arrived discreetly a few months ago on the French market in the form of a liquid to ejaculate with an electronic cigarette, the CBD quickly found its public in France. And a new form of this product derived from hemp has just made its appearance. Like conventional cannabis, there is now CBD in the form of grass or resin, mainly from Switzerland, to smoke in joint. Some shops in France are starting to offer these products, as in Besançon, reports L’EstRépublicain. Is it legal? What are the effects of CBD? Is it a substitute for heavy users of cannabis?
What is the difference between CBD and THC?
In the form of dried flowers or resin, THC and CBD both have the shape, taste and smell of cannabis. This plant has about 500 different cannabinoids. But not all of them have the same effect or the same intensity. The strongest is the THC, “a psychoactive chemical substance that causes a modified state of consciousness,” says Dr. Alain Morel, addictologist psychiatrist and general director of the association of prevention and care in addiction OPPELIA. Smoked or ingested, THC causes euphoria, feeling of well-being, stress reduction and relaxation. In short, we hover. In second effect kiss (not) cool, it can also cause paranoia and anxiety crisis: the famous bad trip.
With the CBD, no trapping as with “normal” cannabis. The eyes are not exploded, we are not stone and there is no risk of bad trip. And according to its followers (and sellers), the CBD would have therapeutic virtues: it would reduce inflammation, stress and nausea. Roughly speaking, it would have the benefits of cannabis without its disadvantages. But if several scientific studies have just been launched on the effects of CBD, “nothing allows today to validate therapeutic effects bragging by some,” says Dr. Alain Morel, addictologist psychiatrist and general manager of the prevention association and addiction treatment OPPELIA. But there is a certain craze. “For some months now, several patients have told me about CBD, told me to take it or asked me about its effects,” says the addiction psychiatrist.
Is CBD an alternative to classic cannabis?
For heavy users of cannabis, CBD is sometimes seen as an alternative to THC-containing products. Not sure, however, that this alternative holds all its promises. “CBD has much less effect than THC, so for heavy smokers, it would take very high doses of cannabidiol to get closer to the relaxing effect of THC,” says Dr. Morel. While some CBD users indicate that this product relaxes and reduces stress, it is not sure that it can meet the expectations of those who use cannabis to reduce anxiety or fall asleep and not just a placebo effect. On this point, it is necessary to wait for complementary results “.
According to reports on the CBD, “this product seems to satisfy occasional smokers, who do not constitute the public most in need of a substitute for conventional cannabis,” says the psychiatrist. But maybe later studies will make it a substitution treatment for big consumers. “
